Tickets are nearly sold out for Ellis on A Prairie Home Companion on October 4, 2014. It will be live at The Fitzgerald Theater in St Paul Minnesota at 5:00pm. Hear it online at mpr.org or 91.1fm in Minneapolis/St Paul.
In the Star Tribune this weekend:
"Ten songwriters will perform, but only one guitar will take center stage at Monday’s Acoustic Guitar Project showcase. Texas-bred, Twin Cities-based folkie and recent “A Prairie Home” performer Ellis was hand-picked by Acoustic Guitar magazine to write a song on a certain six-string and then hand the instrument off to other local tunesmiths to do the same. Other participants include Chastity Brown, the Ericksons, Kevin Bowe, John Hermanson, Quillan Roe and Pennyroyal’s Angie Oase — quite a wide array of artistry for one little guitar to withstand for one night."
Doors at 7:00pm/Concert at 7:30 p.m. Mon. Sept 8th, Cedar Cultural Center, all ages, $12/$15.)
Thanks to Chris Riemenschneider for this writeup!
Ellis is launching her summer membership drive! She is looking for 200 members to join Patreon.
She has all kinds of rewards planned, including CD and T-Shirt giveways, online concerts and chats, a future retreat, and much more!
I'm interested in supporting Ellis! How do I sign up?
It's easy. Visit her Patreon page and choose an amount. Even $1 is fine - just enter it in the box. Then set up your account and you are all set!
What will happen with Listener Supported Music?
She is transferring LSM activity over to Patreon because the interface is a lot easier to use, more friendly, and better organized! She is inviting all current LSM members to switch over!
Ellis would love to have you join her at two fun Minnesota outdoor festivals this month. Come up say hi, and afterwards email a photo of yourself at the festival and Ellis will send you some free song downloads just for fun!
First, on Friday, July 11th, the wonderful Common Grounds Yoga & Music Festival in Richmond, MN (90 min from Twin Cities and near St Cloud). Come just for the night, for the music, or stay for the weekend. It is described as a "transformational yoga and music festival supporting a collective culture of love, connectivity and joy." Sounds awesome, right? :-) Definitely bring chairs, blankets, bug spray and water. There is food on site and libations.
July 18th and 19th is the Riversong Music Festival. Ellis performs on Saturday July 19th at 1pm. From the website: "Experience live Acoustic Music in our incredible riverside location in Hutchinson, MN. This Celebration of Grassroots Music will feature music by artists and bands from all over the nation. Multiple stages will showcase performances in number of genres, including folk, blues, roots, Americana, acoustic jazz, celtic, and more!"
I'm excited to announce that I'll have a tour buddy for the Colorado shows next weekend!
One half of Moors and McCumber will be with me. I'm so happy Kort is free to play music with me, even though we'll miss James!
All of the shows are house concerts (email for reservations) except the date on Sat, June 14th at Jensen Guitars in Longmont, CO.
