How did Y'all come up with the name "Rubberneck" Records? Just curious! :)
ellis writes:
Rubberneck is an old song I wrote in '95.. Since then it's fallen to the wayside (I don't even think I remember it).. but when I released my first CD in '96- I was looking for a Publishing name.. and Rubberneck Records sounded cool to me.. so whalllaaa!

Illinois for now..
Hey Ellis.. just got your live recording from Susan Million of Million's for Music and I have to say WOW!
I haven't had a chance to catch any of your live shows and now that I've heard how much fun people seem to have and your beautiful voice I'll be sure to make it next time you come 'round to Illinois or Wisconsin.
Thanks for the great music and smiles.

Iowa City, Iowa
Ellis I was reading some past guestbook/your voice entries and saw some way back on page 7 from June. In two different responses you said I promise to play in Iowa soon! It is now October, your tour is through February, Iowa isn't on that list, and you haven't been here since February if I remember correctly! So I think that means you need to take a trip to Iowa to play very soon. I've talked to some other Ellis fans here in Iowa City and we are all starting to have withdrawals, that's not good! :-(
Anyway I hope all is well with you!

Jackie- you are correct.. I've been neglecting Iowa- I will do my best to correct that;-) thank you for reminding me!

Minneapolis
Hi Fellow Ellis Fans! As someone that really enjoys Ellis, and I just thought you may be interested in another singer/songwriter coming to town at the end of the month in Minneapolis. Melissa Ferrick is a great guitarist, but her personal and emotional lyrics are really her strong point. The show is at the Cabooze on Tuesday, October 26th if you are interested in catching the show.
Terri writes:
Even better news- Ellis is now opening this show. Hope to see you there!
Lori
Denver
Hi Ellis. It's me, Lori, the woman wearing purple who just recently got turned on to your music and then attended your Swallow Hill concert last week in Denver. What a powerful performance!!! I so enjoyed your awesome and unique stage presence, your moving lyrics, your energetic guitar playing, your at times funny and at times heartwarming stories, and your you-ness!!! I am so looking forward to when you next come to our neck of the woods. You are always welcome here!!! Until then, I will wear out my iPod listening to Evidence of Joy as I walk amongst the autumn leaves.
ellis writes:
Yes- I remember you Lori:) thank you! I always look forward to CO shows!! See you next time!

There is something so special about you and your music. Like an old friend. Thank you for your gift, I feel I know you well...Many wishes for a great success.

....Regarding the altitude in CO., I read in one of Michael Stipes'website entries that he uses O2 when playing Denver! Hope to catch you as you blow quickly through town,Ellis. The leaves here are dynamite as well, yes? "Take good care of eachother" (Jackson Browne)
ellis writes:
I heard that a lot of artists do that.. I'll have to remember to bring my O2 next time;)! (or at least breathe a little extra before I go)

I had to re-order a few of your CD's today. I wore them out. I've been thinking about your songette, "Sitting here in this coffee place, smoke blowin' in my face...." This is too good. My suggestion is to use it as an intro to a new song....please. You are as yet an undiscovered star. Keep singing and the multitudes will hear you eventually. :-)
ellis writes:
thank you Jan- I'll do that;)

You are an amazing artist. Last year you were in my home town singing at a local coffee shop. You came at a time that my life was in turmoil and your music was a blessing to me. I bought as many CD's as I could afford at the time and have since been caught singing along with the top down on my mustang. Your music puts joy in my heart, thank you :-*
ellis writes:
thank you Lauri.. Hopefully getting caught singing out loud hasn't stopped you from doing it often;-)!

Hey Ellis and Ellis fans. Just writing here cuz I can rarely find any of my friends since graduating from Olaf. The song "Hear Me" off of Blueprint Live echoed my emotions real well this morning on the way to work (where I am, illegally web-surfing). I've found myself in love with an unemployed posessor of a GED and a spotty work history who's gonna kill himself if he doesn't get a job pretty damn soon. He's trying. Really. In short, I'm feeding him, cuz no one else will. And I'm working my first job after college, trying to save up to move out of my parents' house and all. (Damn, this is turning into one pathetic sob story. Sorry.) On one hand I'm probably being used and this relationship doesn't give me a whole lot right now, but I'll be damned if I'm the last person to abandon him before he dies. So if any of you have a good relationship with God still, please help me try to convince Him that abandoning my boyfriend was a mistake and He needs to take it back. Peace.

Eileen- I'm not really sure what you're sayin' here.. but I wish you well- Hopefully things will settle down and figure themselves out.. time has a good way of doing that..

Ellis your music got me through a rough break-up. The song Twisted Roads helped me understand that I can be a friend to my ex. I'd just like to thank you for sharing that song with the world. It's been almost 2 years, and we couldn't be better friends.
I can't wait for you to come back to Toledo.

Hey, I've read your homepage and I'm thrilled you're coming this year! I noticed you are only playing at Jones Plaza. I'm a DJ at Chancesbar.com and was wondering if you had time to stop by the bar and meet the ladies, and namely, myself. I'd love to meet you in person. I've listened to all your samples off the new cd and can't wait to buy it. Check out our site and see you in Houston!
