I am giving you the gift of being able to listen to my music.
Just email me and ask for the album you want and I will send you a link to download a copy of my digital music. I have always dreamed of being able to give my music away. I thought I would do it once I made enough money making music. But it turns out that "enough money" is hard to define, and I don't want to wait anymore.
I believe that music heals. It has always been my mission to open people's hearts and I think my music does.
So just send me a note asking me for what you want, and I will send you a link to download it.
Please note: I am looking for a permanent place to put all of the music for download, and I am open to your ideas. Is there a site you recommend? Bandcamp? Soundcloud? FreeMusicArchive? For now, I'm using a folder with download limits, which is why I'm not just posting links. You have to email me. But once I get it all uploaded in whatever home I decide on (my website, or an external one), you will be able to download all the music!
Will your songs still be available for sale?
Will you still sell CDs?Yes! I will still be selling hard-copy CDs to anyone who wants them (until I run out).
Do I have to sign up on your mailing list, give a donation, or become a Patron to get the mp3s?
When did you make this decision? Are you sure it's a good idea?
I don't know if it's a good idea, but it is the realization of long-standing dream of mine. Here's the note I sent to my email list explaining it on Dec 1, 2016.
Are you giving up making music? Are you not making more albums?
No, not at all! Even though sales are down, I will keep recording albums. I will just make sure I pay for the albums in advance, so I won't depend of future sales to fund them.
I am able to do this BECAUSE so many of you supported the Kickstarter and are members on Patreon. I can give up on making a living via album sales because so many of you are supporting me in other ways.
Thank you, all of you, for your ongoing support not just via Kickstarter and Patreon, but also by coming to shows, buying CDs, and sending me money.
You will always be able to support me in making music; and now there is an option for everyone to hear it regardless.
I am so happy about this, and I have you to thank for it! Thank you! I love you!
I already bought a copy - can I still ask for an MP3 copy?Of course. You can have a digital version whether you bought it or not. Whether you've been a long time supporter or if you haven't bought one thing. I want everyone who wants my music to be able to listen to it.
Can I use your songs in my film, project, or other licensing thing for free? No. I am still retaining all ownership and rights to my songs. You can get a digital copy for personal listening, but if you want to put them in a commercial project, you need a licensing agreement from me.
Why don't you host your music on.... ?I am very interested in your ideas on where to host the albums. Ideally I don't want to be charged for each download, which is what would happen if I just store it on my own website. So I am looking for my options, and if you have an idea, please let me know! Do you recommend Bandcamp? Soundcloud? Something else? I want all your ideas! :)
